Carnival Loft (SA) International Summer Challenge January 2022.

Entry fees R3200 (€170 or $220) for 1 entry with 3 reserve pigeons, an entry form must be completed and sent to the organizers via email or a copy must accompany your pigeons sent to the lofts. (A team will consist of 4 pigeon’s one entry and 3 reserve pigeons; there will be additional charges that must be paid by the entrant to cover transport costs, quarantine costs, admin and feeding of the 4 pigeons.)

All remaining reserve pigeons in the loft one week before hot spot 1 MUST be activated by paying R3200 (€170 or $220) each.

There will be 4 x Hot spots ranging between 180km – 350km’s plus the final race that will be raced from a distance no less than 420km. Prize money below is subject to at least 650 paid entries @ hot spot 1.
    
Prize money on each of the 4 hot spots:

Ace Pigeon (Shortest flying time of the 4 hot spots and the final combined, hours of darkness will apply and the clock will be set to close 15minutes after sunset at the loft and open 15minutes before sunrise at the loft on all the hot spots and final race)

 Final race:

After the final race we auction the birds. The breeder gets 50% of the net selling prize.

Every entrant must supply a pedigree of his pigeons on auction in order to be entitled to this kickback.
 
Anything not covered herein will be published on our website and/or announced by subsequent short messages notice or emails. Kindly pay due attention to these as they will become part of the rules of entry.

All the prize money mentioned above is subject to a minimum of 650 pigeons paid for before hot spot 1. All prize monies will be paid out after the auctions of the pigeons. No entry fees will be refunded.

The main loft is finished now and we can host 3000 pigeons comfortably. We have also secured a long term lease agreement on the property so we will not have to move the lofts again and we will now start building some additional waiting area’s as well as entertainment area on race days.

We are looking into the following changes on our side to make it more pleasurable for you the entrants:

• Improved website and communication
• Betting and nominations on all flights further than 100km
• live streaming of the trapping area on trainings and races further than 100km

High-Risk High-Reward Race: Entrance fee R7000 (€370 or $470) additional entrance fee per pigeon.

There will be an additional high stakes race added for the benefit of fanciers who wish to race for bigger prize money but fewer paid positions.

An additional entrance fee of R7000 (€370 or $470) per team must be paid before hot spot 1 for this challenge. You do not have to pay all pigeons in the team before hot spot 1 however you must nominate at least one pigeon per team for the extra race, if your main nomination gets lost the first reserve pigeon will take its place in this competition. You may at any time activate any of the remaining reserve pigeons in a team by paying the R7000 activation fee.

The full details of this additional competition will be published once we have spoken to all the international entrants who seem very keen on this concept and actually did the proposal for higher entrance fees.
